4 Sunday A

I was at a Football Celebration recently. We were all presented with a gift, for winning a Football Final, fifty years ago. Each player was welcomed, celebrated, and got a three line comment on his football qualities. All comments were good, although I do remember some games that I played, being not so good. Then, the words of The Good Lord came to mind ....I forget your ‘ould’ sins. Maybe, that was the taste of Heaven that I felt. Happiness...total, is not possible in this life, because we are made for God. Yet, The Lord gives us a happiness menu to day. Is happiness an attitude to life. God is good always, life is gift, and is about wanting what we have, rather than having what we want. All blessings are pointers to God, to be shared. Jesus asks us to learn from the children. I watch the little ones throwing coins into The Water Fountain at The Shopping Centre. The child has no value on the coin, other than to throw it away, and then experience a splash of satisfaction seeing ripples in the magic of water. The parents were happy, the child was happy, and so was I. A taste of happiness and Heaven ..yes ...The Real Banquet ..wait in joyful hope.
