3 Sunday  Lent B

I like visiting markets when I go to a different city or country. You get the feel of the people. I got a parish gift to visit Bangkok. I will never forget the markets, the people, and variety. To days Jesus Story is around a market place. I imagine all the stalls, ordinary poor people trying to make a living, maybe having to pay a heavy tax to the religious authorities of temple property ...maybe being exploited...and Jesus was from a humble working background. His anger, I think, was about the exploitation of people, not a temple building.

Perhaps it is His Message that makes me think that way. He says that people are His Body, through His Spirit. People are the Risen Body of Christ. Our Mass highlights the different presences of Christ and ties them together. The Presences compliment each other.

People gathering together in welcome is ‘presence’. Stories, talking, listening, meal like, to Gods Word, is ‘presence’. Jesus, through bread and wine, becomes a ‘spirit presence ’and our food for the journey....This is my Body given for you. Holy Communion is  a presence to help us ‘to commune’ with each other, and with Gods world ..And indeed beyond ...Heaven and earth are full of Gods Glory. Mass is an endless source of life and blessing that we are invited to dip into.
