Growing
up, I used to hear people say ‘ That fella has lost the run of
himself or that girl has lost the run of her self. It wasn’t a
compliment .Today’s Jesus story tells about people who lost the
run of themselves...even to the extent of heartless murder .I wonder
why .It seems that not only did they want to forget the owner of the
vineyards, but they wanted to wipe him out . I wonder is today’s
world much different .All is given ...the breath of life for every
second, the life of light every day. Gods art gallery renewing
itself daily throughout the universe .Do we notice and admire the
art ...the beauty and superabundance ,even extravagant generosity
,and forget the artist ...The Creator . The children’s prayer at
Mass says ‘Lord You made us to live for You and for each other .We
can SEE and SPEAK to one another, become FRIENDS,....SHARE
our joys and sorrows, so Father we gladly thank You, and with
everyone who believes in You, with all the saints and angels we
rejoice and say (sing)...Holy, Holy ,Holy ...HEAVEN and EARTH are
full of Your Glory .To forget God is to forget the human person
.Loss of respect for Gods world is to lose respect for ourselves
.When we were little children ,and an adult gave us a gift or
present our mothers prompted
us with ....What do you say....that magic word
....was THANKS
...such a short and powerful word never used often enough. It is
like a golden thread that links together the endless duties of
everyday life...family life ..work life ...play life in a world
where we are trying to do our best, and always assured of Gods
Extravagant Love .
