20 Sunday  B

Speaking to us, over the last few Sundays, Jesus says ’The Father sends us Bread from Heaven, a Spirit Bread’. This Love Bread is found in Mass and Holy Communion. Jesus tells that this Bread is healing Food for the poor, the sick, the weary, the worried, the disheartened, the disturbed, the sinner who knows he is sinner...lacking in love.

When Jesus feeds the crowds He is extravagantly generous. He includes all in God’s love, like The Wedding Wine Feast at Cana when He began His Mission of Love. Some of our teaching in the past may have been well meant, but I think also left some residue of unhealthy scruple in relation to Holy Communion,...that It was only for holy people, rather than for struggling humans, in the kitchen, the factory, the farm, the business place, the chapel, the school, the everyday slot of life.

We love when we try to be loving, in the thousand situations of everyday living. Jesus often asked ‘Do you want to be healed’? I think it means ..do you want to grow in love, but never to reach perfection, then ,’Take and eat ‘...Mystery of Love ...Yes, but it is The Father that draws us.
