Jesus never met an unimportant person.To-days story
tells that He meets A Lady of the Streets...a Prodigal Daughter ,at a
dinner party.The Pharisee ,hosting the dinner ,is shocked at Jesus behaviour.,because
this woman seeks Jesus out,washes His tired feet. cries,anoints Him with
perfume,and kisses ..The Pharisee is judgemental.Jesus in courtesy, asks
the Pharisee an easy question,trying to open his mind and heart.He was a
religious man ,in his way,a son of God..Then ,the eyeopener comes...Jesus
says to him‘Simon do you ‘see’this woman.Simon had ‘looked ‘at the
woman,with distain .He did not really’ see ’her..He did not see her heart
of gold,her outpouring of affection,her encouragement .her loving
attention,which is a God Presence ,that outshines all other weakness and
failings.How often Jesus tells us ...you ARE forgiven...before we reform or
change.
We receive Communion into our hearts,not because we are
perfect,but because we want to grow more human,thanking God for the seeds
of love implanted in our own hearts,and in hearts of others,and wanting to
reach out to others in the caring ways of every day life ,in family,in
business,on the highway ,of the routine and ,ordinary ,living,through friendships,disagreements,pain
depression,and recession.Jesus is The Bread of Life who touches the best
in us,and understands the worst in us.You are Forgiven.Come,Take,Eat.
