Vincent Ferrer – France – 14th Century

The Lord never promised a perfect church. In the days of Vincent, there were two rival Popes, for the honour of Papacy. This divided the loyalty of people. Vincent was a friend of Benedict 13th whom he supported, as anti-pope in Avignon, France. Meantime, Urban was the legitimate Pope in Rome. Later, Vincent saw his mistake and pleaded with his friend Benedict to resign.

Vincent was world famous for his effective preaching. He predicted the end of the world. Even Saints are limited and human in their vision, but they are always preachers of God’s Love and Mercy.
